OnePlus and Realme are set to launch the next flagship smartphones in the GT Neo series.
The phones are expected to arrive in Q1 2023. The rumours suggest that the GT Neo 5 will come in two variants. Both of these models are tipped to feature a Sony IMX890 sensor. The new Sony IMX890 sensor is said to have better optics than the IMX766 image sensor on the current GT Neo 3 and will be accompanied by OIS.
The rumours also mention a 50MP primary camera sensor. This is likely the same sensor as on the OnePlus 5T. The battery capacity is also said to be 5000mAh. The Realme 3 has a 16-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel depth/macro camera, and a selfie camera with a 16-megapixel cutout. The phone also has an accelerometer, compass, and fingerprint sensor. It supports 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. The smartphone is manufactured in China. It runs Android 12.
In addition to the Sony IMX890 sensor, the device is rumoured to have a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 387 PPI. The screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a punch-hole layout for the front-facing camera. There are also volume rockers on the side. The device will come with a 5,000mAh battery and a 150W charging solution. This is said to be the fastest charging solution available in the market right now. It will take about nine minutes for the device to charge from 0% to 80%, which is the same time it takes current generation flagships.
There is a possibility that the Realme GT Neo 5 will include a 240W charging solution, but the exact details have not been revealed. This is the same technology that the iQOO 11 Pro will use. The company demonstrated that the battery could be fully charged from 0% to 100% in less than ten minutes with a 4,500 mAh battery. The real test will be in the coming months when the 240W tech becomes more efficient.
The Realme GT Neo 5 is expected to rival the Redmi K60, a smartphone launched by OnePlus in China. Both the OnePlus and Realme devices will have the same specs. The iQOO will have a 5000mAh battery, while the Realme will have a slightly larger battery. Both of the handsets will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G processor.
The Realme GT Neo 5 will be offered in two versions.
The first version is said to have a 5000mAh battery, while a more powerful version will have a 6000mAh battery. Both of these phones are expected to support both wired and wireless charging. They will not be compatible with OnePlus and Oppo devices. The Realme GT Neo 5 will be available in China and will launch globally. It will also be the hottest charging smartphone in the market.
The Chinese mobile manufacturer is currently working on a foldable phone.
The device is said to cost around $540. The Realme GT Neo 5 is also said to come with a 2MP depth/macro camera and a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor. The smartphone is set to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G processor, a 6.62-inch AMOLED panel, and Android 12.
